Above is pictured a Seeed Studio XIAO board next to an Arduino Uno. It is Arduino compatible, supports both Bluetooth and Wifi, has a lithium battery charging controller, and will easily connect to any of the devices we are talking about, and run all their libraries too. And of course, boards like these will continue to get smaller and smaller as we go into the future. I imagine a point will soon be reached where the entire board is reduced to a single chip that is far smaller than the devices we attach to it. In that case, I imagine a future where each and every device has its own computer, placed INSIDE of it, running all sorts of custom software designed just for it. And instead of connecting to a single main computer to coordinate them all, they can now network amongst themselves and coordinate themselves. I want to anticipate this future, and I want to design an operating system tailored for it. I call it the Z-OS.
