The Z-network - page 1

Every Z-device has a unique serial number, customer ID, and an encryption key, burned into it when manufactured.

There are no "IP addresses" or setup configurations. You just turn them on and they connect. You can remove a Z-device from one location and re-connect it somewhere else.

All Z-devices -- with the same customer ID -- will automatically find each other and network amongst themselves, communicating either by Z-wire (explained on the next page), or by bluetooth, wifi, or some other means.
