It is not a collection of many small computers connected by a network -- it is a single galactic computer.

Its components are called "ZOZ Objects". There are zillions of them, distributed throughout the galaxy, and all linked into a communication channel called "The galactic ZOZ data stream". For now, think of this as a radio wave spanning the entire galaxy.
