Axiom 4: COMPOUND MACHINES Any two machines which use the same type of energy or data can be combined by physically connecting them such that the energy flowing out of one continues to flow into the input of the second. Such a combination is itself a machine, and is called a Compound Machine. Corollary: Any number of machines can be concatenated into a single compound machine, the output of all but the last one connecting to the input of the next. Axiom 5: DYNAMICALLY SWITCHED COMPOUNDING OF DATA MACHINES Data machines can be dynamically compounded, data from one routed to the next via a human-controlled "switch" which can route to any selected data machine. Axiom 6: Final definition: Computer: A computer is any data machine or concatenation of data machines.
