From ZOZ to WIZ: --------------- Now suppose that our just mentioned temperature sensor (# 748392033005) outputs degrees Celsius, but we want to print degrees Fahrenheit. The formula to convert is F = C*1.8 + 32. Given an adder and multiplier basic objects, we could use this sequence of instructions: tempSense -> multiplier 1.8 -> multiplier multiplier -> adder 32 -> adder adder -> printer or written with a bit of syntax: tempSense, 1.8 -> multiplier , 32 -> adder -> printer This might be considered to be our "machine language". It embodies all four of our basic principles: (1) the hardware is broken down into a set of basic hardware objects, like tempSense, multiplier, adder, and printer (2) there is a series of communications of data between them (3) each has a unique serial number (replaced here with human-readable symbols) (4) and finally we have a series of instructions to control the entire operation.
