For the benefit of us mere humans, we can assign symbols to represent serial numbers. That is, we can "name" objects.

For example, if serial number 838393049483049 is a thermometer in Boston and 29833923 is a multiplier on Mars, this instruction:

   838393049483049 => 29833923

might also be written:

   temp-sensor => martian-multiplier

These names are informal and will be translated back to the numeric form when given to the ZOZ. They are just to make it easier for us humans to talk about them.
